Miguel Angel Moratinos Ecuador Visit
Spain's foreign minister visited a Spanish cooperation project on Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and one of the planet's most impressive reservoirs of biodiversity.
Miguel Angel Moratinos, who on Wednesday began an official visit to Ecuador, having met during the trip with counterpart Fander Falconi and President Rafael Correa, traveled to Galapagos on Thursday and will wrap up his visit Friday by attending the closing ceremony of a meeting of Spanish ambassadors in Ibero-America.
Spain's top diplomat spent several hours on San Cristobal, one of the islands of the Galapagos archipelago, where the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, or AECID, is carrying out the Araucaria XXI project in tandem with Ecuadorian institutions and organizations.
